Requests
Since we rent only to friends or friends of friends, and so we can keep our rates low, we do not use a leasing agency. Please look upon yourselves as guests. If you use up some of the basic supplies like toilet paper, soap or paper towels/napkins, please replace them. We realize it is difficult, but try to keep sand out of things like rugs, blankets and mattresses.
Our fantastic housekeeping team from Country Club Cleaners comes on Sunday;
please allow them to do her job, so you (or the next guest) can have a clean house the rest of the week. Sunday check-out is by noon, and check-in is after 4pm.
Getting into the house
We will email you separately with instructions on how to access the keys.
Check-Out/Departure Instructions
Check-out Time is 12pm/Noon
TRASH/RECYCLES
Please empty all house trash cans and your recyclables, and put all items in the trash/recycle bins outside. You can leave those bins by the side of the house. The w trash/recycle staff will move them.
Dewey Beach will issue tickets if trash receptacles are in or near the street –with the exception of several hours near trash pick-up time. If for some reason, the trash/recycle staff don’t return them to the side of the yard, please move them back—thanks.
Trash Days: Monday and Friday. Recycle Days: Monday only
HOUSE
1. Please leave the house neat, ideally “broom clean” and the way your found it. Return furniture to its place, if you moved it.
2. Please “make” all beds, putting bedspreads back in place, as they were when you arrived.
3. Please lock all the doors and ensure that the house keys are back in their hiding spot.
4. Please close all windows; remember to check the kitchen skylight.
5. Remove your perishable items from the refrigerator. It is okay to leave some condiments.
6. Plan ahead on dishes: It is okay to leave a few dishes in the dish-rack, but please do not leave a dishwasher full of dishes (even if clean).
7. Please ensure there is at least one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for the next tenants.
Air Conditioning:
In the summer, please leave the A/C unit in the living room on Low/Cool, with both bedroom doors open.
Please also leave at least one of the bedroom A/C units on the smaller/north side on Low/Cool with both bedroom doors open (but the glass doors should be closed).
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOUSE
--Laundry Detergent must be high-efficiency (HE). You need to turn the power on before selecting your choices. You may need to open and re-close the door a couple times. Also, please wait a few seconds after you hit "start." The washer will click and then pause before starting.
--Dishwasher... the door will fall open if not closed fully. To run the dishwasher, you will need to press hard to fully lock the door
--Wi-Fi -- Password should be in the book and in a frame near the TV
--TV - COMCAST/XFINITY On Demand. The TV is Roku enabled, so you should be able to access your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney, etc. accounts. Remember to log off your accounts when you depart.
-- Heater --You need to turn on the main switch in the utility closet before you use the thermostat (above the TV). Please remember to turn it off at the end of your stay.
-- Hot Water should be turned on, but just in case: On the north side of the house, in the bedroom by the driveway: Fuse box is in the closet.
Hot water switches are labelled (bottom right)
-- Please do NOT run an item like a hair dryer or curling iron when both A/C units are in use on the north side. You will blow a fuse.
